Welcome to Hollywood
I graduated from my Film School.
Yup, I sure did.
With honors.
A major.
A minor.
And a special recognition for my work in/stories focused on social justice during the graduation ceremony.
All this was done while managing a marriage, a home, taking six+ STUDIO classes a term, commuting three hours a day, working (AKA consulting) for most of the time, and...did I mention I graduated from one of the worlds TOP FILM SCHOOL programs hosted at THE leading Art School in the USA?
It's pretty big deal, considering I'm a non-traditional student (that's the title anyone gets when going back to school when they're older than 25), that's paying all my schooling solo.
Actually, my husband and I am. Paying for it, that is.
All $120,000 of that student loan bill.
Before you cry for me (and you can, because it's $120,000!), listen here...it was worth it.
I will tell you why at a later date, but mostly because...I got a job. Actually, four FILMMAKING jobs since graduating....
Writers Room/Writing Research - because good writers do their homework before they tell a story. The good ones do, anyways.
Locations Manager - Because a good story needs to be attached to a place.
Wardrobe Assistant - I love fashion. Film loves fashion. And there you have it.
Production Office Assistant - Have you heard the expression that "anything good starts with a strong foundation?" Well, I'm a tiny part of something big.
Big, BIG...
And I couldn't be more stoked about all this...because this is what I have been working towards.
So there you have it.
Like I said earlier in my post...it's just a small announcement.
