Sunday Brunch at La Cave Wine and Food Hideaway in Las Vegas
The wonderful folks at La Cave Wine and Food Hideaway invited me and a guest to enjoy Sunday brunch at their amazing restaurant. What follows is my true and honest review.

"Brunching" is a must-do in my book when traveling. This time around when traveling to Vegas, I met a friend and made plans to brunch at La Cave Wine and Food Hideaway instead of watching Sunday Football with my hubby (that's a post for another day!).
Located in one of the newest, and in my personal opinion, most beautiful resorts on the Las Vegas Strip, Wynn Las Vegas, the La Cave Wine & Food Hideaway is a beautiful departure from the big restaurants in Vegas.

Above the Wine Bar |
La Cave is boutique in feel and with lit with dim lights,
beautiful large wood furniture and exposed kitchen. The main room features a 10-person table, which lends to
intimate wine tastings and spontaneous tapas-sharing. The Garden Lounge & Patio has a partially exposed
outdoor area that overlooks the Wynn pool and gardens. To say that this restaurant is gorgeous
is an understatement.

The furniture, reminiscent of the Polycek garden furniture,
swinging chairs, candle chandeliers, and corner alcoves, gives the restaurant
an intimate feel, without being crowded.

My guest and I opted to sit in the outdoor area. Although the temperature ranged from
ridiculously hot (more than 100 degrees) to moderate and warm in the two hours
we enjoyed brunch, our experience was nothing short than spectacular.

With more than fifteen (fifteen?!) breakfast tapas-style dishes,
you could eat for hours from the chef-created brunch delicacies…which we did!
Every Sunday the staff displays what is on the days Brunch Menu |
The butler-style table side “tapas” dishes included brunch
staples, including a heirloom tomato and mozzarella salad, fresh fruit salad,
scrambled eggs, and the like. While I opted to only taste a couple of the most
basic dishes, it was the “artisan ingredients” made even the simplest dishes
dance on your palate; while extraordinary flavor combination and experimental recipies with ingredients we could have never imaged together left us wanting more.
The AMAZING four-bean salad |
One of my favorites was the “Four Bean Salad,” which by
simple glance didn’t look like anything spectacular. I later found out that a $400 a bottle vinegar was the
secret ingredient that made the salad feel light, while being refreshing and
ending with a slight citrus note.
I can't stop dreaming about these grits - seriously LIFE CHANGING! |
Other noteworthy dishes includes the Mushroom grits drizzled
with truffle oil, which literally, as I shared with the Chef, changed my life.
Angus Mini Burgers |
My guest and I also enjoyed the Angus mini burgers. Who knew that something so ridiculously
simple would be cooked and seasoned perfectly?
Eggs Benedict with Spanish Chorizo |
The Eggs Benedict with Spanish Chorizo are a must have and a
definite departure from your traditional fair.
For those of us that love sweets and pastries, my guest and
I savored the Pancakes with berry compote. In one word: Perfection.
Baked potato tater tots with brown gravy |
My guest was a huge fan of the Baked Potato Tater Tots with
Brown Gravy. Personally I thought
the cheese took over the gravy – and the gravy wasn’t brown. At all.
The flatbread of the day was made with ham, tomato, basil and mozzarella cheese. Very simple, yet tasty. |
The Chef Selection Flat Bread of the day was great. Simple,
uncomplicated breakfast favorites in a small bite.
I will definitely be back to La Cave to enjoy my next Sunday
Brunch while in Vegas.

Those baked tater tots are calling to me. They're saying, "Eat me. I'm delicious." I'll be in Vegas next year, so I'll add this to my list of spots.
